Chennai, Mar 19:
Senior BJP Leader and Union Minister Piyush Goyal will arrive in Tamil Nadu todsy,in a key political visit aimed at holding talks and finalising the seat sharing pact with the NDA allies for the April 23 high stakes Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
The elections would witness a four cornered contest with the key players being the formidable ruling DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA), the AIADMK-led NDA, actor Vijay’s nascent Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) which would be testing its electoral fortunes for the first time and the Naam Tamizhar Katchi (NTK) of another actor-director Seeman.
Goyal, who has been entrusted with overseeing the BJP’s election strategy in the state, is expected to hold a series of meetings with leaders of the NDA, headed by AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, who is also the CM face of the Front.
With the elections still more than a month away and two weeks leeway available for the filing of nominations to commence, the seat sharing talks among the NDA partners was yet to take off as the AIADMK has formed its committee only a few days back.
During his visit, Goyal is likely to meet senior leaders of the TN unit of the BJP to galvanise the party cadres, review the poll preparedness, strengthening the booth level committes and also devise the poll strategy.
