Muslims celebrate Ramzan with special prayers and offer the needy rice, meat and clothes to mark the occasion today.
Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Chief Minister M K Stalin and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami extended their greetings to Muslim brethren on the eve of Ramzan.
Governor Arlekar said, “My warmest greetings and best wishes to my Muslim brothers and sisters of Tamil Nadu and across the nation on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.” In an official release on Friday, he said, “May this joyous day bring good health, happiness and prosperity to all, and foster peace and brotherhood in society, strengthening unity in nation-building.”
Chief Minister Stalin, in his message, said, “To our Islamic brothers who follow the path laid out by Prophet Muhammed, the DMK government always stands as a fortress. At all levels, such as education, employment, economy, political representation, we have upheld social justice for our minority brothers.”
“Whenever the Union BJP government brings laws against the Islamic people, we have been fighting strongly against them in the people’s forum and in the Parliament,” Stalin said in a statement.
