Chennai, Apr 15:

Thol Thirumavalavan, president of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), released the party’s manifesto for the 2026 Assembly elections, outlining a broad reform agenda focused on social justice and governance.

The manifesto highlights 12 key areas, with a major promise to enact a special law to prevent honour killings, a long-standing demand by social justice groups.

A central feature of the document is 50% reservation for women, along with proposals to strengthen healthcare and education infrastructure across the state.

Thirumavalavan also stressed the need for a bilingual policy in Tamil Nadu and said the party’s vision is rooted in achieving social transformation through ideological principles.

On the political front, he raised concerns over the timing of a proposed special Parliament session on women’s reservation and delimitation, alleging that it could disadvantage opposition parties during the election period.

He also targeted actor-politician Vijay, claiming that his political stance against the DMK could indirectly benefit rival alliances in the state.

With Tamil Nadu heading into a high-stakes election, VCK’s manifesto positions the party strongly on issues of social equity, women’s empowerment and caste-related violence, making it a key voice in the evolving political contest.
