Chennai, Apr 20:

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said the Opposition opposed the proposed delimitation exercise, alleging it was aimed at “dividing votes and ruling.”

Sharpening his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kharge termed him the “king of lies,” contrasting his governance with Rahul Gandhi’s nationwide outreach. He highlighted Rahul’s Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, saying such engagement reflected commitment to the people.

Backing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, Kharge said the Opposition’s campaign aimed to protect democracy and uphold constitutional values. He credited the DMK government, supported by Congress, for effectively implementing welfare schemes for the poor.

Calling for unity among alliance partners, Kharge said parties including the DMK, Congress and Left were “united like 10 fingers of a hand” under Stalin’s leadership. “You are not alone, the entire country stands behind you,” he said.
