Mumbai, Apr 25:
Sanju Samson’s superb white-ball form has reignited the debate over India’s ODI wicketkeeper spot, with many fans and experts questioning whether he should replace Rishabh Pant ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup.
After strong performances in the T20 World Cup earlier this year, Samson has carried his form into IPL 2026 with remarkable consistency. The Chennai batter has scored 293 runs in seven matches at an average of 58.60 and a strike rate of 178.65, including two centuries this season.
Pant, meanwhile, has struggled for rhythm, managing 147 runs in seven matches at an average of 24.50 and a strike rate of 132.43, with his highest score being 68 against Hyderabad.
