Chennai, May 8:
Amid the ongoing political flux following the hung Assembly verdict, Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi has commenced routine administrative duties at Raj Bhavan, even as government formation in the state remains unresolved.
The development comes at a time when intense political activity continues across parties. With Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam emerging as the single largest party with 108 seats but falling short of a majority, efforts to secure support are still underway.
The Governor’s decision to proceed with official responsibilities signals that no immediate swearing-in is on the horizon, as competing claims and negotiations continue. Indian National Congress has extended support to TVK, while parallel political discussions—including speculation around possible alignments involving All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam—have added to the uncertainty.
With no clear majority yet established, the focus now shifts to how quickly parties can consolidate numbers and present a viable claim to form a stable government.
