Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow have announced Nayyi Navelli, a fantasy family entertainer starring Yami Gautam Dhar. Produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma and directed by Balaji Mohan, the film is scheduled to release in theatres nationwide on October 16, 2026, coinciding with the Dussehra festival.
Written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, the film will feature music by G.V. Prakash Kumar. Set in Meerut, the story follows a picture-perfect bride who transforms a chaotic family household into a seemingly happy paradise. However, her brother-in-law begins to suspect that his seemingly perfect sister-in-law may actually be a daayan (witch), setting the stage for fantasy, humour, chaos and unexpected twists.
The film marks the first collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios, Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma. The makers are positioning Nayyi Navelli as a festive family entertainer that combines fantasy, comedy and adventure. Yami Gautam Dhar is expected to bring warmth and mischief to the central character, while the film aims to offer audiences a larger-than-life theatrical experience during the Dussehra season.
