Chennai, Sept 18:
Several parts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, are experiencing summer-like heat in September, with temperatures remaining unusually high for the time of year.
Chennai and neighbouring areas have been witnessing hot and humid conditions, making daytime weather particularly uncomfortable. The persistence of high temperatures has added to the heat stress normally associated with the summer months.
The prevailing conditions are being closely watched as Tamil Nadu moves through the latter part of the southwest monsoon season. Weather conditions are expected to remain warm in several areas, even as isolated parts of the State continue to receive rainfall.
