Chennai: After facing consecutive defeats, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are back on track with two wins in two games and will look to tame the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), at their den in Chennai when the two teams face each other Tuesday.
While CSK is sitting comfortably at the top, SRH is at No. 4 in the points table and a win would take them to the second spot. SRH return to this fixture with confidence as they have won their last two games. On the other hand, CSK is back at their den after two losses away.
CSK faced their second defeat of the season recently against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Dhoni missed that game due to a back spasm and under Suresh Raina the team performed poorly, scoring only 135 in the 20 overs. SRH chased it comfortably by losing four wickets.
CSK again lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) last night by just one run and find themselves in a must-win situation.
A win will ensure a spot for CSK in the play-offs. However, for CSK, the main concern lies with their top order as Shane Watson and Du Plessis’ performance have been under-par in the last two games.
With Dhoni almost pulling off a victory last night, CSK fans hope that their skipper will rise to the occasion once again tomorrow.
For the Sunrisers though, their concern is regarding their middle order; but with Warner and Bairstow, at their best and skipper Kane Williamson at No. 3, there is not much of a problem.
The batting line up will depend on them to come out all guns blazing. With the pitch at Chepauk aiding spin, Afghanistan sensation, Rashid Khan and Shahbaz Nadeem will look to challenge the home side.
But they might need one more spinner in this pitch as CSK most probably would play with three spinners, with Harbhajan returning to the side.
