Scholarships given to rural students at VIT Bhopal

Chennai: Freshers orientation programme for 2019-20 was held at the VIT Bhopal campus recently.

Under the VIT founder G Viswanathan’s flagship programme ‘Support the Advancement of Rural Students,’ 61 students selected from all districts in Madhya Pradesh were given engineering admission orders.

One male and one female student who came first in the district were selected for the programme.
Students who got admitted under this scheme were given free hostel and mess facilities for the entire, four-year programme.

The total cost of the scheme is Rs 10.3 crore. Further, 30 students who got high marks in VIT engineering entrance exams were given scholarships between 100 per cent and 25 per cent in education fees.

Sehore Collector Ajay Gupta and Virtusa security director Shekh Ahmed participated in the event.
Admission orders were given to all the students. VIT vice-presidents Shankar Viswanathan and Kadhambari Viswanathan and college authorities were present.
