Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the accord between Bodo groups and the government will strengthen the unity and integrity of Assam, pointing that the five-decade-old issue found resolution on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Seasoned diplomat Harsh Vardhan Shringla took charge as India’s new Foreign Secretary on Wednesday, and asserted that he would work with India’s partners on key issues, including ensuring an “undifferentiated and unambiguous” approach to terrorism. A 1984-batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) who last served as India’s envoy to the US, Shringla replaces Vijay Gokhale and has a fixed two-year tenure.

Ravikumar’s advice to filmmakers

“Register your stories first. There is Writers Union to help us out”, said veteran filmmaker K S Ravikumar. Much recently the Madurai Bench of the High Court dismissed a petition by director Ravirathnam that the story of Lingaa, directed by Ravikumar, has been copied from his work Mullaivanam 999. However after years of hearing the court dismissed his plea.

Akshay Kumar to act with Dhanush

After acting with Rajinikanth in 2.0, Akshay Kumar will be sharing screen space with Dhanush in filmmaker Aanand L Rai’s next Hindi venture Atrangi Re. The film, which reunites Dhanush and Aanand after their 2013 critical hit Raanjhanaa, will feature Akshay in a special role, the makers have said.
