
The results for class 10 and 12 Board Exams were declared today. Girls outshined boys in both the results.
8,37,000 students had registered for Class 12 exams, of which more than 7,50,000 students attended the examination.
9,55,000 students had registered for Class 10 exams, of which more than 9,00,000 students attended.
In the Higher Secondary exam results, the pass percentage of girls is higher than boys as many as 96.32% of girls who took the exams have passed while for boys the pass percentage is at 90.96%. This is keeping up with the usual trend. In 2020 too 89.4% of boys and 94.8% of girls had passed while in 2019 the pass percentage of girls was 93.6% and boys at 88.6%. This year, as many as 3,49,893 boys and 4,06,105 girls have managed to clear the Tamilnadu 12th general exams.
Perambalur was the best performing district with 97.95% of students from the area passing the exam whereas Vellore is the least performing district with 86.69%.
Among the government schools, the pass percentage is lowest at 89.06% in class 12 while in government-aided schools as many as 94.87% of students have passed. Among self-financed schools, the pass percentage is at 99.15%. In co-ed schools, 94.05% of students passed. In girlsā and boysā schools, the pass percentage was 96.37% and 86.60%, respectively.
According to the analysis released by the Directorate of Examination, government schools have secured an overall pass percentage of 89.06%.
Pass percentage in Physics was 96.47%, in Chemistry it was 97.98%, Mathematics was 97.29%, Biology (98.86%), Botany (95.34%), Zoology (96.01%), Commerce (96.31%) and in Accountancy, it was 93.76%.
Similarly, as many as 634 candidates have secured centum in Physics, Chemistry (1,500), Biology (1,541) Mathematics (1,858), Botony (47), Zoology (22), and Commerce it was 4,634 students have secured centum
In the tenth results, the overall pass percentage this year was 90.07 %, lower than 2019’s pass percentage of 95.2%. there were no board exams during 2020 and 2021 due to Covid pandemic.
Of the total 8.21 lakh students who registered through schools, the girlsā pass percentage was 94.38% and the boysā was 85.83%.
As many as 4,006 schools have secured a 100% pass percentage.
In the 10th result, Kanyakumari has shown the best results as 97.22% of students from the region have managed to clear the exam. In contrast, with only 81.25% of students clearing exams, Dindigul is the worst-performing region.
