Chennai, July 1:
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader and Chief Minister Joseph Vijay is set to convene a crucial meeting of alliance party leaders on Tuesday evening at a private resort in Mamallapuram, amid fast-evolving political developments in Tamil Nadu. The high-level consultation is being viewed as a significant step towards reinforcing coalition unity and addressing emerging challenges within the ruling alliance.
The meeting assumes added importance as the TVK government was formed with the support of multiple alliance partners, whose continued backing remains vital for the stability of the administration. Key constituents of the alliance include the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Indian National Congress, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), and the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) led by Vaiko, along with Left parties such as the Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)].
In a move that underlines the seriousness of the meeting, invitations were extended in person to alliance leaders by senior TVK figures and Ministers Aadhav Arjuna and Anand. The personal outreach is being interpreted as an effort to ensure maximum participation and convey the importance of collective decision-making at this juncture.
