In a dramatic turn of events, the counsel representing incarcerated minister Senthilbalaji has moved the principal sessions court in Chennai, seeking bail for their client. The plea, which cites two critical grounds, has not only reignited debates surrounding political vendettas but also raised concerns about Senthilbalaji’s deteriorating health.
Snior counsels Kabil Sibal and N R Elango, representing Senthilbalaji asserted that their client was being pressured by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to switch allegiances, and his health was in a precarious state.
Kapil Sibal echoed the sentiment that the case against Senthilbalaji seemed politically motivated. “How come Senthilbalaji alone can be accused of a money trail that spanned approximately nine years?”
One of the most startling claims made during the bail plea hearing was that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was allegedly pressuring Senthilbalaji to join the BJP, a charge vehemently denied by the ED.
