The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has issued summons to three individuals for questioning in connection with the 2019 murder of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) leader Ramalingam. The summons comes after recent searches were conducted by the NIA across 15 locations, leading to the seizure of mobile phones, SIM cards, and other digital evidence.Ramalingam was brutally murdered on February 5, 2019, in Thirubuvanam, Thanjavur district, sparking widespread outrage. The NIA has been investigating the case to uncover the motives and individuals involved in the crime.
Following the analysis of the seized digital evidence, the NIA has identified three persons with alleged ties to the banned organization Popular Front of India (PFI). The individuals summoned for questioning are Ameer Basha from Tiruchirappalli, Nawas Khan from Mayiladuthurai, and Nawazthin, who are believed to have held key positions within the PFI.
The NIA has instructed these individuals to appear for questioning at its Chennai office as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder.
