In a crucial meeting held today with DMK district secretaries, the party’s president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, MK Stalin, set the stage for the party’s ambitions in the upcoming 2026 assembly elections. With a firm resolve, Stalin announced the party’s goal to secure 200 seats in the next elections, urging his party members to work relentlessly to achieve this target.
Addressing the gathering, Stalin emphasized the partyās consistent success in recent electoral contests, stating, “The DMK has won the last ten elections, and we will continue this streak if we work tirelessly for the people.” His words underscored the importance of sustained effort and commitment to the public’s welfare as the key to the party’s electoral triumphs.
In his speech, Stalin also highlighted the need to connect with the younger generation, stressing the importance of making DMK’s ideals resonate with them. “We should take efforts to take the party to the next generation and ensure our ideals reach them,” he stated. This focus on the youth marks a strategic move by the DMK to secure its future in an evolving political landscape.
Stalin did not shy away from addressing internal issues within the party. He acknowledged receiving complaints about certain district secretaries and senior leaders, promising thorough investigations and strict action against those found guilty. As Tamil Nadu continues to attract investments, Stalin assured the party that his impending visit to the United States would not detract from his oversight of party and government activities. “Though I go to America to seek investments for Tamil Nadu, I will monitor the work of everyone in the Ministry and also how the party work is carried out by DMK office-bearers,” he said.
