New Delhi, Feb 6: Voting has commenced for the Delhi Assembly elections, with over 1.56 crore electors set to decide the fate of candidates across the 70 constituencies. The elections are being held in a single phase, and a total of 13,766 polling stations have been set up at 2,696 polling locations across the National Capital.

Paid Holiday Declared for Workers
In view of the elections, a paid holiday has been declared for employees in both government and private sectors in Delhi. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have also announced paid holidays, acknowledging the importance of the elections in the National Capital.

Voter Turnout Under Scrutiny
The focus now shifts to voter turnout, which is expected to play a crucial role in determining the election outcome. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, voter participation was recorded at 62.59%, while only 56% of voters turned out during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The comparison of these turnout figures has heightened expectations, with parties and analysts keenly watching how the electorate will respond this time.

As polling unfolds across the city, the fate of key candidates and constituencies remains closely watched, with every vote considered vital in this high-stakes election.
