Madurai, Dec 24: Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader Thol. Thirumavalavan on Tuesday said his party would not be concerned even if it were removed from the DMK-led alliance, asserting that its political stance and fight against issues affecting people would continue irrespective of coalition politics.Speaking at a protest meeting in Thiruparankundram, Thirumavalavan emphasised that while the VCK remains part of the alliance, it would not be intimidated by threats of exclusion. He criticised the BJP for focusing only on certain controversies, saying they could not politicise issues like the Thiruparankundram matter in the same way as other regions such as Ayodhya.
Thirumavalavan said the party’s commitment is to stand with people against social injustices and not to chase political benefits or positions. He stressed that if the DMK felt uncomfortable keeping the VCK in the alliance, his party would not lose sleep over it, maintaining that its principles and struggle were larger than electoral ties.
The VCK chief also addressed concerns around minority rights and political rhetoric, reiterating that his party would continue to oppose divisive politics regardless of alliance dynamics.
