U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran is “very complete, pretty much” and could be nearing its end, while issuing a stark warning to Tehran against further action.
Speaking in a phone interview with CBS News, Trump said the military campaign — launched by U.S. and Israeli forces — has significantly damaged Iran’s military capabilities, claiming Tehran now lacks an effective navy, air force and communications systems. He added that the United States is “very far ahead” of his original four‑to‑five‑week timeline for the operation.
Despite suggesting that the war could soon conclude, Trump cautioned Iran against taking any provocative steps, saying Tehran had “shot everything they have to shoot” and warning “they better not try anything cute or it’s going to be the end of that country.”
Asked about Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, Trump said he had “no message” for him and hinted he has someone else in mind for leadership, without providing details.
