Chennai, Mar 31:
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Monday released a book detailing the achievements and development works carried out over the past five years in the Kolathur constituency, shortly after filing his nomination for the 2026 Assembly elections.
The book serves as a comprehensive account of infrastructure projects, welfare initiatives, and civic improvements implemented in Kolathur during Stalin’s tenure as the constituency’s MLA and Chief Minister. The release is seen as a strategic move to highlight his governance record and connect with voters ahead of the polls.
Among the key highlights featured in the publication are major development works such as modernized libraries and co-working spaces, new housing units, improved sewage and sanitation systems, and upgraded public facilities. Initiatives aimed at supporting students, entrepreneurs, and small traders have also been emphasized as part of the constituency’s transformation.
The release of the book coincided with Stalin’s nomination filing and a brief roadshow in Kolathur, where he interacted with residents and sought continued support. Having previously won from the constituency in 2011, 2016, and 2021, Stalin expressed confidence of securing a fourth consecutive victory.
Political observers note that the move reflects a broader campaign strategy by the DMK to foreground governance and development as key electoral themes.
By presenting a documented record of achievements, Stalin aims to reinforce his credibility among voters and counter opposition narratives during the campaign.
