Chennai, Apr 6:
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami alleged that voting for the DMK in Puducherry would lead to misuse of liquor revenue, accusing the party of corruption linked to the TASMAC system in Tamil Nadu.
Campaigning for NDA candidates, he also criticised the INDIA bloc for lack of unity in the Union Territory and backed Puducherry’s Statehood demand, urging voters to support the NDA.
Taking a dig at the alliance dynamics, he said parties in the INDIA bloc were contesting against each other in several constituencies, exposing internal differences. He added that such confusion would weaken governance and development in the region.
Palaniswami further stressed that Puducherry’s progress depends on strong coordination with the Centre, stating that an NDA-aligned government would ensure smoother implementation of welfare schemes and infrastructure projects.
