Chennai, May 2:
DMDK general secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth on Friday dismissed exit poll projections as premature, expressing confidence that the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) would secure a decisive victory and return M. K. Stalin to power.
Speaking after a Labour Day event at the DMDK headquarters in Koyambedu, she urged restraint in reacting to post-poll surveys. “Those who have the patience to work must also have the patience to wait. There is no need for excessive expectations based on exit polls,” she said, maintaining that the alliance’s prospects remain strong.
Premalatha asserted that the DMK-led alliance would “register a resounding victory,” adding that Stalin would once again assume office as Chief Minister.
On the question of power-sharing, she said discussions would take place only after the results are declared on May 4.
Expressing optimism about her party’s performance, she said all 10 DMDK candidates would win and enter the Assembly.
Earlier, she also distributed welfare assistance and uniforms to trade union members as part of the May Day celebrations.
