Chennai, Mayb15:
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the NEET re-examination will be conducted on June 21, following allegations of a question paper leak during the nationwide test held on May 3.
The decision comes after multiple complaints raised concerns over the integrity of the examination process, prompting authorities to cancel the earlier test. The move is aimed at ensuring transparency and fairness in admissions to medical courses across the country.
Students affected by the cancellation will now appear for the rescheduled test later this month. The announcement has brought much-needed clarity to lakhs of aspirants who had been anxiously awaiting updates on the fate of the examination.
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the primary gateway for admission to undergraduate medical programmes such as MBBS, BDS, and allied health sciences in institutions across India.
The controversy surrounding the alleged paper leak had triggered widespread concern among students and parents, with calls for strict action and a fair re-examination process. With the new date now confirmed, attention shifts to the smooth conduct of the retest and restoring confidence in the system.
