Dejected over poor performance in Plus Two exams, a 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging at her residence in A Puthur Village near Patti Veeran Patti.
Reports say that the deceased identified as daughter of one Kalimuthu was upset as she scored less marks in the recently declared plus two exams.
She chose to take the extreme step by hanging from the ceiling at her residence late last evening. Her father was shocked to see her dead and immediately informed the police.
Patti Veeran Patti police have registered a case and are investigating. The body has been sent for postmortem.
