Chennai, Jan 26: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president, K Annamalai, asserted that the State will not be an exception in contributing to the party’s performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. During his recent tour of the delta districts of Mayiladuthurai and Thanjavur as part of the ‘En Mann En Makkal’ campaign, Annamalai unveiled an ambitious vision, declaring that these districts together would be designated the ‘spiritual capital’ of the country once the BJP assumes power at the Centre.Addressing a gathering at Sembanarkoil near Poompuhar, Annamalai expressed confidence in the BJP’s electoral prospects, emphasising the party’s historical success in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha polls under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He predicted that Tamil Nadu would align with the national trend, contributing significantly to the BJP’s victory with over 400 seats in the upcoming elections.
Annamalai underscored the BJP’s commitment to preserving the traditions and culture of Tamil Nadu. He cited instances where the party, led by Prime Minister Modi, demonstrated its respect for the state’s heritage. “The sengol from Thiruvavaduthurai aadheenam now adorns the new Parliament. BJP made pattina pravesam of Dharmapuram aadheenam possible after the DMK-led government banned it. PM Modi revered Kambar, who was born in Therazhundur, during his visit to Srirangam,” he stated.
