Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin called upon DMK cadres to work towards a historic victory in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections, stating that the party must achieve success on a scale that no other party has reached. Stalin made these remarks while addressing party members at the DMK’s grand event held in Chennai. In his speech, Stalin acknowledged the progress made under the DMK government but emphasized that many of the party’s demands and aspirations are yet to be fulfilled due to challenges posed by the central government.
“Despite the DMK’s efforts to strengthen Tamil Nadu, our core demands remain unmet. The central government is not one that can fulfill the state’s rights and aspirations. We are still fighting for the financial resources that we deserve,” Stalin said, expressing his dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs at the national level.
He criticized the central government’s inefficiencies, mentioning how they were unable to answer basic questions, such as the tax on whipped cream, underscoring the financial and administrative challenges the state faces.
“Even amid such pressures, we are making significant progress with the limited funds at our disposal. Imagine the number of schemes we could implement if we received the full financial support we are entitled to,” he added.
Stalin reiterated the DMK’s commitment to fighting for state autonomy, saying that the party would continue its efforts to push for constitutional amendments that empower states with greater autonomy.
