President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the need for India to prepare for emerging national security challenges, including cyber warfare and terrorism, in addition to safeguarding the nation’s core interests.During her visit to the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) in Wellington, Nilgiris, President Murmu was welcomed by the college’s Commandant, Lt. General Virendra Vats, and other senior officials, including Brigadier Sunil Kumar Yadav, Nilgiris District Collector Lakshmi Bava, and SP Nisha.
The President laid a wreath at the war memorial at the military center to honor soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Accompanied by a military band playing Abide with Me, she observed a moment of silence and presented commemorative gifts to the families of fallen soldiers.

In her speech at the Trishakti Auditorium, attended by officers from the three armed forces, President Murmu praised the institution for its role in shaping national defense. She congratulated all cadets, including 38 international trainees from 26 countries, for their dedication and competitive spirit.

President Murmu highlighted the importance of being ready to address evolving threats like cyber warfare, terrorism, and challenges posed by climate change. She emphasized the need for advanced research and cutting-edge technologies to counter these issues effectively.
