Karthi’s Sardar 2 wraps up shoot

Shooting has officially wrapped on Sardar 2, the eagerly anticipated sequel to Karthi’s 2022 hit Sardar. Director P.S. Mithran led the film, which began production in July 2024. The team celebrated the wrap with a pooja ceremony and cake cutting at Thailand’s Huahin Airport, as Karthi shared on social media: “That’s a wrap! What an adventure it’s been!!” The sequel features a strong ensemble cast including S.J. Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, Yogi Babu, and Rajisha Vijayan, with Sam C.S. returning as composer. Principal photography lasted over 100 days, spanning locations like China, Cambodia, and major cities across South India With editing and post-production now in full swing, Sardar 2 is expected to hit screens in December 2025.
