Post offices under the Chennai Central and Tambaram Divisions will remain closed on August 2 as part of preparations for the launch of Advanced Postal Technology (APT) 2.0, a new digital platform set to go live on August 4.
An official release stated that the temporary closure is needed to carry out data migration and system configuration to ensure a smooth transition to the upgraded system.
The Chennai Central Division includes key areas such as T. Nagar, Royapettah, and Gopalapuram. Authorities have requested the public to plan their postal needs accordingly during this brief disruption.
