In a brutal attack, three fishermen from Nagapattinam were seriously injured after being assaulted by Sri Lankan pirates.
The pirates, who had approached the fishermen’s boat, not only attacked them but also stole fishing nets valued at Rs. 5 lakh.
The three injured fishermen, identified as Selvaraj, Moorthy, and Thanapal, are currently receiving medical treatment.
This incident has caused a great deal of distress and anger among the local fishing community, who are calling for increased security and government intervention to protect them from such attacks.
