The Tamil Nadu government has directed the one-member commission headed by retired Justice Aruna Jagadeesan to submit its report within three months on the Karur stampede that claimed 41 lives during actor Vijay’s TVK political rally.According to the government order, the panel will probe the causes and circumstances of the tragedy, fix responsibility for lapses, and suggest preventive measures to avoid similar incidents. It will also review permissions granted, compliance by organisers, and existing regulations for political events, recommending new SOPs to ensure public safety in the future.
