Quetta, OCT 28: Eight people were injured when a bomb exploded targeting the convoy of the Deputy Commissioner of Kech district in the Turbat area of Balochistan. The blast took place on Monday as the convoy passed along Press Club Road, according to senior police officials.

The explosive device had been planted on a motorcycle and was detonated remotely when the convoy passed by. One vehicle in the escort was badly damaged, but the Deputy Commissioner himself remained unhurt.

Among those injured were personnel from the Levies Force. They have been taken to hospital for treatment and are reported to be in stable condition. Authorities have cordoned off the area, collected evidence and started a full investigation into the attack.

This incident follows a series of recent attacks in the region. Earlier this month, a bomb blast targeted the Quetta-bound Jaffar Express train in Sindh province, injuring several people. Similar attacks on trains and tracks have occurred in Balochistan this year, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region.
