SRly warns youth performing risky stunts in EMU trains

The Chennai Division of Southern Railway has issued strict warning against students and youth travelling footboard and performing risky stunts in EMU trains. A Railway release said it has been observed a rising trend of unsafe behaviours among certain groups of students and youth, particularly in the suburban and MRTS train sections. Incidents such as performing skating-style stunts on moving trains at platforms, stepping out of moving trains to perform stunts, travelling on footboard, creating nuisance during train movement and recording videos of such acts on mobile phones for posting on social media have been increasingly reported in recent days. Pointing out that these actions pose a serious threat to the safety of the individuals involved and endanger the lives of fellow passengers, it sid such reckless behaviour not only jeopardizes one’s future, but also brings disrepute to educational institutions and causes deep concern to parents.
