Kathmandu, Jan 30: Nepali authorities have arrested two Indian nationals from Bihar for possessing fake Indian currency notes in Rautahat district, southern Nepal, officials said on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Bikram Kumar Paswan, 30, and Rahesh Kumar Sah, 42, are residents of Sitamarhi district in Bihar. They were arrested on Tuesday night during a routine security check while entering Nepal on an Indian-registered motorcycle. According to Armed Police Force (APF) spokesperson Manish Thapa, security personnel recovered counterfeit Indian currency worth INR 2,500 from their possession. The seized notes included one fake INR 500 note and ten fake INR 200 notes. Following their arrest, the suspects were handed over to the District Police Office in Rautahat for further investigation. Authorities are probing the source of the counterfeit currency and whether the suspects are linked to a larger network involved in cross-border fake currency circulation.
