To manage the heavy passenger rush during the weekend holidays on Friday and Saturday (February 6 and 7), the State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) has announced the operation of 725 special buses across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states.
According to SETC officials, special bus services will be operated from Kilambakkam Bus Terminus to major destinations such as Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur. A total of 240 buses will be operated on Friday, while 255 buses will run on Saturday from Kilambakkam.
In addition, special buses from CMBT Koyambedu will connect passengers to Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru, with 55 buses operating on each of the two days. To further ease travel demand, 100 special buses will be operated from Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and Erode to various destinations.
The Madhavaram Bus Terminus will also operate 20 special buses each on Friday and Saturday. In total, 725 special SETC buses will be deployed to ensure smooth, safe, and comfortable travel for passengers during the busy weekend period.
