Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) allotted a Rajya Sabha seat to the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), led by Premalatha Vijayakant, marking the party’s first representation in the Upper House despite having no current legislators.
The agreement was signed at DMK headquarters, Anna Arivalayam, by M.K. Stalin and L.K. Sudeesh, DMDK treasurer, who received the allocation on behalf of his party.
The deal also stated that the DMK’s seat-sharing committee would determine the number of Assembly seats to be allotted to DMDK for upcoming elections.
