Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin, during his election campaign trail, confidently remarked that the people of Tamil Nadu would once again choose the “dawn of growth” (Vidiyal) provided by the Dravidian Model of governance.

Stalin highlighted the various welfare schemes implemented by his government, such as the Magalir Urimai Thogai (monthly assistance for women) and the free bus travel scheme, claiming these have fundamentally improved the quality of life for millions.

Stalin criticized the opposition for attempting to disrupt the state’s progress through “communal politics and false propaganda.” He urged the electorate to recognize the tangible development in infrastructure, education, and healthcare that has occurred over the last few years.

According to the Chief Minister, the upcoming 2026 election is not just a battle for power but a battle to protect the “rights and self-respect of the Tamil people” against external political pressures.

The Chief Minister’s rhetoric focuses heavily on continuity and stability. By framing the election as a choice between “proven development” and “uncertain alternatives,” the DMK aims to retain its majority.

Stalin also touched upon the state’s industrial growth, noting that Tamil Nadu has become a hub for global investments, which he promised would lead to even greater employment opportunities if his government is granted another term.

Meanwhile yesterday, Stalin highlighted the party’s consistent electoral success since 2019 and said the momentum would carry forward into the upcoming Assembly elections.

He credited the people of Tamil Nadu for the party’s victories and emphasised that the government’s policies and welfare measures had strengthened this support base.

Reiterating his optimism, Stalin said the DMK remains committed to continuing its governance model, signalling confidence of another strong performance in the 2026 polls.
