US President Donald Trump has said that a “great settlement” aimed at ending the ongoing conflict with Iran could be signed as early as this weekend, raising expectations of a possible breakthrough in the prolonged crisis.
According to Trump, the proposed agreement would mark a major diplomatic step, with both sides nearing final consensus on key issues, including nuclear restrictions and regional stability measures. He also indicated that a formal signing ceremony could take place in Europe.
The deal, as outlined in recent statements, is expected to focus on preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and easing tensions that have escalated through months of military exchanges.
Trump also said he had engaged with several regional leaders, including officials from Israel and Gulf countries, as part of efforts to push the agreement forward.
However, Iranian officials have not yet confirmed final approval, and reports suggest internal discussions in Tehran are still ongoing.
