GUWAHATI, June 27:
Assam Rifles, in coordination with the excise and narcotics department, conducted a joint operation in the general area of Tuikual North in Aizawl district of Mizoram on Wednesday and recovered heroin, with an estimated market value of Rs 47.25 lakh, from a residential house.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the contraband, weighing approximately 63 grams, had been brought from Myanmar for further distribution in Aizawl, official sources informed on Friday.
The narcotics were recovered from multiple concealed locations inside the house.
Four persons, including three females, were apprehended during the operation.
The apprehended individuals along with the seized narcotics were taken in custody by the excise and narcotics department, Aizawl for further investigation and necessary legal action.
