EPS attacks BJP, DMK

In a culmination of a month-long fervent campaign, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami brought his whirlwind tour to a close with a spirited road show in Salem on Wednesday. The energetic procession, starting from Hasthampatti and winding its way through enthusiastic cadre lining the streets up to the revered ‘Kannika Parameshwari Amman’ temple area, marked the final push of Palaniswami’s extensive outreach efforts.
Addressing the gathered throngs, Palaniswami exuded confidence in AIADMK’s prospects, boldly proclaiming their intent to secure victory in all 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. With unwavering determination, he rallied the party faithful, emphasizing their collective resolve to emerge triumphant in the electoral arena.
Prior to the road show, Palaniswami spared no words in lambasting the DMK, holding them responsible for the state’s purported failure to secure its rightful share of Cauvery water from Karnataka. Accusing Chief Minister MK Stalin of neglecting the interests of Tamil Nadu by shying away from confronting the Congress government in Karnataka, Palaniswami painted a picture of dereliction of duty on the part of the ruling alliance.
Drawing attention to the contentious issue of the proposed Mekedatu dam, Palaniswami warned of dire consequences for Tamil Nadu if the project were to proceed. He castigated both the BJP and Congress governments in Karnataka for their complicity in advancing the dam project, portraying it as a threat to the livelihoods and well-being of the people of Tamil Nadu.
In a scathing indictment of national parties, Palaniswami accused the BJP, Congress, and DMK of colluding to undermine the interests of the states, citing the alleged preferential treatment received through electoral bonds. Expressing disillusionment with the BJP alliance, Palaniswami asserted AIADMK’s decision to contest the elections independently, decrying what he perceived as neglect and disregard for the state’s welfare.
Amidst allegations of insufficient support during times of crisis, Palaniswami’s impassioned rhetoric underscored the stakes at play in the upcoming elections, setting the stage for a fierce electoral battle for the soul of Tamil Nadu.
