Chiyaan Vikram has extended his heartfelt thanks to fans for the overwhelming success of his latest film, Thangalaan, which has grossed over Rs 63 crore within just four days of its release. Despite the film receiving mixed reviews, the actor is thrilled by the audience’s positive response.
At a success meet held in Chennai on Monday, Vikram reflected on his meticulous approach to filmmaking. “I usually take a few years to make a movie. I become deeply involved with each project, spending six months discussing the script and another six months physically transforming for the role. This process often extends over two years, and sometimes even longer,” Vikram explained, highlighting the dedication and effort he invests in every film.
He also addressed the pressure from fans to increase his film output. “My fans often urge me to make more movies quickly. In response, I took on three projects simultaneously—Mahaan, Cobra, and Ponniyin Selvan. All these films featured similar hairstyles and looks, which made it challenging to differentiate the characters,” Vikram shared. He admitted some regret over the commercial underperformance of Cobra, noting that certain performances in the film might have been overshadowed by its lack of success.
Vikram expressed profound satisfaction with the recognition he has received for his role in Thangalaan. “When people acknowledge and appreciate the effort put into Thangalaan, it brings immense joy,” he said.
The actor also took the opportunity to congratulate his colleagues Arulnithi and Ajay Gnanamuthu on the success of Demonte Colony 2. Reflecting on his diverse body of work, Vikram remarked, “Projects like Mahaan, Ponniyin Selvan in two parts, and Thangalaan show that I am on a unique path in my career. Facing obstacles and challenges on this road is part of the journey, but the joy of seeing a film succeed on this path is unparalleled. I felt that joy with Thangalaan.”
Vikram’s continued success and dedication to his craft highlight his commitment to delivering impactful performances, regardless of the challenges he faces along the way.
