Cyclone Fengal: Several flights cancelled at Chennai airport

With Chennai experiencing relentless rains, authorities have issued a red alert for Saturday, November 30. In light of the adverse weather conditions, several precautionary measures have been announced, impacting transportation and public mobility across the city.
As a result of the downpour, 13 flights scheduled for Saturday have been cancelled. Passengers are advised to check with airlines for updates and reschedule their plans accordingly.
The Tamil Nadu government, prioritizing public safety, has announced the suspension of public transport services on East Coast Road (ECR) and Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) on Saturday. These areas are prone to waterlogging and flooding during heavy rains, making travel risky.
The state government and disaster management teams are on high alert, monitoring the situation closely. Emergency services have been deployed to address waterlogging and provide assistance to affected residents. Citizens are urged to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary and follow updates from the authorities.
Residents in low-lying areas are advised to move to safer locations.
Avoid venturing out or driving through waterlogged roads.
Keep emergency numbers handy for any assistance.
The government has assured that steps are being taken to mitigate the impact of the rains and restore normalcy at the earliest. Citizens are requested to cooperate with the authorities and adhere to the advisories for their safety.
