AIADMK Deputy Leader of the Opposition R.B. Udhayakumar issued a challenge to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, demanding the release of a full three-hour video of AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s speech in the Assembly.Speaking in Madurai yesterday, Udhayakumar said, “During the Assembly session, when Palaniswami asked the question ‘Who is that man?’ referring to a controversy involving Anna University, the Chief Minister responded in a manner akin to a comedic scene from the movie Karagattakaran.
Palaniswami raised questions that left the Chief Minister fumbling. Stalin claimed, ‘Tungsten will not be found, and if it is, I will resign.’ The AIADMK will continue to pursue this issue until the truth about ‘Who is that man?’ is revealed. If the DMK government fails to answer, the truth will come out when Palaniswami returns to power.”
Udhayakumar alleged that the DMK government intentionally withheld footage of key moments in the Assembly session. “Palaniswami spoke for three hours in the Assembly. Why wasn’t his speech in full broadcast? Why was footage of the Governor’s entry omitted? We formally requested the video of his speech, but instead, we received a 45-minute clip. Out of this, 43 minutes were Stalin speaking, and only 2 minutes were Palaniswami’s address,” he said.
Udhayakumar concluded by challenging the Chief Minister: “I challenge Stalin to release the full three-hour video of Palaniswami’s speech in the Assembly. Is he ready for this?”
The issue has sparked a fresh round of political sparring between the ruling DMK and the opposition AIADMK
