Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai has hit back at Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for opposing the Centre’s trilingual policy, questioning the rationale behind enforcing the two-language policy in government schools while private institutions embrace multilingual education.Responding to Stalin’s criticism of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Annamalai pointed out that many private schools, including those run by DMK leaders, follow a trilingual curriculum with Tamil, English, and a third language. “If private schools where ministers’ children study can teach three languages, why can’t government schools do the same?” he asked in a social media post.
He further argued that in a rapidly evolving world, multilingual proficiency is essential for students to remain competitive. “It’s 2025. Why impose an outdated 1960s policy on Tamil Nadu’s children?” Annamalai questioned, countering Stalin’s stance on the issue.
