Chennai, June 28:
In a move welcomed by international travelers, Chennai Airport has introduced free WiFi services at its T2 International Terminal. The facility, provided by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), became operational on Wednesday and has already been accessed by nearly 200 passengers within the first day.
To make the service easily accessible, four self-service kiosks have been installed—two in the departure hall and two in the arrival area. AAI has also assigned dedicated personnel to help passengers connect to the internet seamlessly.
Accessing the WiFi is a simple process. Travelers need to scan their passport and boarding pass at the kiosk, after which they will receive a printed OTP slip. This OTP can be used to log in to the network, allowing up to 500 MB of free data usage.
AAI officials noted that their goal was to activate the WiFi service before June 30, and initial user feedback has been encouraging. They also assured that any technical issues reported by passengers would be resolved promptly to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.
This addition is seen as a significant upgrade in passenger amenities at Chennai International Airport, enhancing convenience for travelers arriving from or heading to global destinations.
