Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday said that over 13 lakh people have benefited from the ongoing “Nalam Kaakkum Stalin” health camps organised across the State, as part of the government’s flagship public health initiative aimed at preventive care and early diagnosis. In a post on social media, the Chief Minister said that the special medical camps, which bring a range of services including full-body health check-ups and consultations with specialist doctors directly to people’s localities, have helped identify health issues at early stages and recommended high-quality treatment where necessary. He said this has helped reduce health risks and provided timely care to several citizens.
The initiative, launched earlier this year, has been held in numerous locations and is designed to integrate citizens into the State’s broader health coverage programmes, including insurance and follow-up care. According to official figures, these camps have reached people of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds, often in areas with limited access to advanced medical facilities.
