Union Minister L. Murugan on Wednesday triggered political speculation after commenting on the possibility of actor-politician Vijay joining the National Democratic Alliance ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters in Tiruchirappalli, Murugan said that everyone is coming when asked whether Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, would become part of the NDA. His brief remark has sparked fresh discussions in political circles about possible alliance formations in the state.
Murugan also criticised the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government and expressed confidence that the NDA would defeat the DMK in the upcoming elections. He said the people of Tamil Nadu have decided to send the DMK out of power and that the NDA rally in Tiruchirappalli would reflect this sentiment.
Meanwhile, speculation about a potential alliance between Vijay’s party and the NDA has been circulating for several days, though leaders of TVK have not officially confirmed any such move.
Political observers say alliance negotiations ahead of the Tamil Nadu elections remain fluid, with parties yet to finalise their strategies.
