Chennai, Apr 17:
Breaking what appeared to be a prolonged absence from Tamil Nadu’s campaign trail, Rahul Gandhi is set to undertake a day-long election blitz in the state on April 18 ahead of the April 23 Assembly polls. However, a meeting with Chief Minister M. K. Stalin is considered unlikely.
With just days left for campaigning to conclude, the absence of senior Congress leaders from Tamil Nadu had raised questions about coordination within the DMK-led coalition. The Congress, despite being a key ally, secured fewer seats than expected after tough seat-sharing negotiations—adding to signs of strain.
While Rahul Gandhi actively campaigned in states like Assam and Kerala, and also made an appearance in Puducherry (which went to polls earlier), his delay in visiting Tamil Nadu stood out.
