Chennai, April 22:
Amid the ongoing internal rift within the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), party president Anbumani Ramadoss has alleged that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin and his son-in-law are responsible for the turmoil within the party.
Addressing reporters during the election campaign, Anbumani claimed that the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) was attempting to create divisions within the PMK to weaken the opposition alliance ahead of the Assembly elections.
He alleged that efforts were made to destabilise the party by instigating internal differences, but asserted that such attempts had failed and that the PMK remained united in its political stand.
The remarks come at a time when the PMK has been witnessing a prolonged leadership dispute between Anbumani and party founder S. Ramadoss, leading to a split into rival factions.
Despite the internal differences, Anbumani maintained that the party’s alliance and electoral prospects remain unaffected. He expressed confidence that voters would reject what he termed as “divisive politics” and support the opposition front.
The accusation adds a fresh political dimension to the already intense campaign in Tamil Nadu, where alliances and internal party dynamics have become key talking points in the run-up to the polls.
