In an inspiring achievement from Tamil Nadu, a visually impaired student from a weaver’s family in Kancheepuram has scored an impressive 565 marks in the Class 12 public examination, bringing pride to her family and community.
Kaviya, a resident of MVMP Nagar under the Kancheepuram Corporation limits, was born with visual impairment. She is the eldest daughter of Jayakumar and Prema, both of whom work as weavers. Despite financial and physical challenges, she pursued her higher secondary education at a special school for differently-abled students in Chennai.
When the Class 12 results were announced on Friday, Kaviya checked her marks on a mobile phone at home and immediately shared the news with her parents, relatives, and neighbours. Her remarkable score of 565 led to celebrations in the locality, with sweets distributed and well-wishers congratulating her achievement.
Speaking about her success, Kaviya said her journey was driven by determination and resilience. She expressed hope that her accomplishment would inspire other visually impaired students and those with disabilities to pursue their goals with confidence. She also credited her teachers and parents for their unwavering support throughout her academic journey.
Looking ahead, Kaviya has set her sights on higher education and aims to clear the TNPSC examinations. She aspires to become a government employee and serve the people, confident that with hard work and dedication, she will achieve her dreams.
